POWER DISTRIBUTION PROJECTS (SOUTH AFRICA) 1995 - DATE

The projects comprised the master planning, design, documentation and construction supervision of the power supply to and the electrification of

150 000 consumers in various areas in the RSA for ESKOM, municipalities and private developers.

 

Projects typically consist of evaluating the status of existing networks, compiling load growth projections for a 10 to 20-year period,  Developing

network strengthening, network planning, tenders, project management, refurbishment and extension programmes.

  

CUT-OFFS & RECONNECTIONS – SOUTH AFRICA ESKOM – 6 000/MONTH

Disconnect and reconnect ESKOM customers – 6 000 per month in Nelspruit & Witbank distributors

  

FINANCIAL & TECHNICAL RING FENCING – MOGALE CITY – 30 000 CUSTOMERS

Total ring fencing of energy activities in respect of networks, revenue management, customer services, asset register and Management for 30 000

customers.

 

DESIGN SUPPLY & INSTALL INFRASTRUCTURE AND UTILITY & REVENUE MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES

Design & establish infrastructure for 50 000 customers and establish utility & revenue management structures for BECOR in South Africa.

  

DESIGN SUPPLY & INSTALL INFRASTRUCTURE AND UTILITY & REVENUE MANAGEMENT STRUCTURES – BOT  - (Built –Operate - Transfer)    

Design & establish infrastructure for 7 500 customers and establish utility & revenue management structures for ESKOM in BULEMBO, South Africa

and operate for 2 years.

 

REVENUE MANAGEMENT – NIGERIA LAGOS –160 000 CUSTOMERS

Revenue management for 160 000 customers for 3 years in Festac, Lagos for NEPA.

 

REVENUE MANAGEMENT – MOU WITH ESKOM ENTERPRISES

Memorandum of Understanding with Eskom Enterprises in terms of revenue management in all its facets during 2001 to 2002 for projects external to

the RSA.

 

UTILITY MANAGEMENT – RWANDA FOR ESKOM/UMGENI WATER – 34 000 CUSTOMERS

Due diligence in respect of networks, revenue management & customer services for 34 000 customers and manage utility for 20 years.

 

 UTILITY MANAGEMENT – UGANDA FOR ESKOM/CDC – 200 000 CUSTOMERS

Due diligence in respect of networks, revenue management & customer services for 200 000 customers and manage utility for 20 years.

 

 UTILITY MANAGEMENT – UGANDA FOR ESKOM/CDC – 200 000 CUSTOMERS

Currently involved with capital procurement for UMEME (ESKOM/CDC) in Uganda – the project entails inter alia development  and structuring of

systems, procedures, master plans, tenders and tender procedures, training and project management for UMEME distribution company – USD 65m

to be invested over next 5 years – currently procuring 11m USD under World Bank Financing and 5m USD under internal UMEME financing.

 

EXTERNAL SPECIALIST CONSULTANT FOR TRANSNET / STEFANUTTI STOCKS – BERTH 208 RICHARDSBAY

The facilitation of electrical,  electronic and mechanical services for the new chemical berth at Richardsbay Port.

 

Services included for fire, foam pumps, controls, pipes, valves including cladding and appurtenances, foam monitors and pourers, bulk power and electrical and diesel standby generators for foam and seawater – the project included for two 800kVA pumps delivering 24,000 liter/min at 14bar.

 

 

RENEWABLE ENERGY - DESKTOP FEASIBILITY STUDIES

 

The following desktop feasibility studies was done by TPC in 2009.

vWind and hydro power of 1 MVA in Angola.
vHydro power of 30MVA  in the DRC.

 

We are currently busy with 3 desktop studies in South Africa.
